Man Dies After Being Struck By Semi-Truck On I-94 In Battle Creek

A section of I-94 through Battle Creek was shut down overnight after a pedestrian was killed in a crash.

WWMT reports that the incident happened around 7:15pm Sunday, along Westbound I-94 near the Helmer Rd. exit. Authorities identified the victim as 25-year-old Jared Carr, who had gotten out of his vehicle when he was struck by a passing semi-truck.

A stretch of the roadway was closed off for a few hours while Michigan State Police were working; the investigation continues.
