Man Found Deceased Behind Portage Business

A 51-year-old man was found deceased behind a Portage automotive store on the morning of Wednesday December 26, 2018.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., the Portage Department of Public Safety responded to a report of an unconscious person lying on the loading dock behind Pep Boys at 5630 South Westnedge Avenue. Medical personnel also responded and determined the 51-year-old homeless Portage man was deceased.

There is no indication of foul play, however cause of death will be determined pending the outcome of an autopsy.

Temperatures were below freezing during the overnight hours. The National Weather Service recorded a low of 28 degrees between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m.
