Man Sentenced in Fatal Bar Shooting

Orlando Mitchell was in court yesterday to be sentenced for the murder of another man in a Kalamazoo bar.  Damian Tejada was shot to death April 17^th at the Wayside West bar.  Mitchell was found ‘guilty’ of second degree murder last month.

Prosecutors said the shooting followed a confrontation between the two men and disputed Mitchell’s claims that he was defending himself when he fired.

A Circuit Court Judge Monday sentenced Mitchell to a minimum of twenty years in prison.
