A 28-year-old Battle Creek man was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after he was stabbed following an argument. Battle Creek police were called at 7:36 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses said the victim had dropped several people at the door of Applebee's, in the side parking lot of Lakeview Square Mall. The victim then parked his car. Some of the passengers went into the restaurant where an argument began with a woman and her son. The victim approached the group after parking the car, and asked what was going on. The argument moved outside at that time.

Witnesses said the woman, who appeared to be around 35 years old, stabbed the victim then left with her son in a car. Police are trying to positively identify the suspect.
