A Marshall man has been found guilty of a lesser charge in the death of a 20-month-old girl in 2014.

Multiple sources have stated that 30-year-old Anthony Ball was found guilty of second-degree child abuse in the death of Athena Ramey. Ramey died two years ago today (December 19th) after she was taken to Bronson-Kalamazoo for a traumatic brain injury. Authorities say that Ball was taking care of Ramey for his former girlfriend.

The jury found Ball not guilty of felony murder.

Ball faces up to 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced at a later date.
