More information has come out regarding a stabbing attack in Marshall Wednesday.

The Battle Creek Enquirer says that 52-year-old Thomas Dyer is facing charges of assault with intent to murder, after he allegedly stabbed two people at a home in the 600 block of W. Mansion St. Responding officers Wednesday afternoon found a 34-year-old woman and 32-year-old man unresponsive with stab wounds; the woman was taken to the hospital, and authorities say her condition is improving but she is still critical; the man was treated for serious injuries.

Dyer was also at the scene, having suffered from what appears to be blunt force injuries caused by the victims defending themselves. Authorities say that they had been called to the home earlier that day, due to an argument over property; they say that they believe Dyer returned later with a knife to attack the victims.

If he’s convicted of assault with intent to murder, he faces life in prison.
