As Michigan lawmakers attempt to work out a plan to bail out the Detroit Public Schools, Rep. Dave Maturen (R-Brady Township) offers some "out-state" perspective on the issue.

Also, Maturen's "Dark Stores" bill has advanced, though may not move through the Senate before the summer recess.

Maturen was also one of the local legislators who co-sponsored an "emergency alert" bill which would notify residents during an active shooter situation.
