A community meeting is scheduled for tonight in Kalamazoo, to discuss the effects of lead on children.

Hosted by the Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch of the NAACP, the event takes place at 6pm Tuesday at Galilee Baptist Church.  The meeting, which is open to the public, will include representatives from the Kalamazoo County Health Department, the City of Kalamazoo, and MSU.

Kalamazoo has historically had low instances of lead poisoning in children, but around 6,000 households still have lead water pipes.
