Baseball can be taught through many years of practice and training. Leadership and hard work can be taught during the same time, with the most important time to show it is in high school.

That is the case for this week's Meijer Athlete of the Week, Travis Snyder of Lakeview. The junior catcher for the Spartans is looking to continue his phenomenal play following a stellar sophomore year.

On his first year with the varsity, Travis batted .425 and drove in 32 runs, earning honorable mention honors in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference and an All-City mention from the Battle Creek Enquirer. The Spartans also reached the Class A State Semifinals last season, finishing at 32-6.

Congratulations to Travis Snyder, this week's Athlete of the Week!
