Meijer Athlete of the Week: Jalen Boes – Union City

There is one team in the area that has gone virtually unnoticed and had not even received a vote in the Boys Basketball polls. They're sitting now at 9-1 after a 57-54 victory over Mendon on Tuesday and look to continue the trend.

The Union City Chargers remain in the Big 8 race and have been led in the last two weeks by junior guard Jalen Boes. Boes has averaged 17 points in the last four games, including a game-high 22 points over Athens on January 13th. In the Chargers win over Mendon Tuesday night, he chipped in 15 on their way to victory. He is just one of the many solid players for the Chargers but this week, Jalen Boes is our Athlete of the Week. Congratulations!
