Sometimes the pins may fall back in the pit and others remain standing. It can change frame to frame. In the final two weeks of the MHSAA Bowling season, they fell just right for Pennfield senior Kadee Bechman.

After making state qualifying her sophomore year and missing another state finals trip in 2014 by just 16 pins, Bechman rolled her way last weekend to a Division 3 individual championship. After qualifying sixth in the state qualifying round with 190 average, Bechman averaged 192 in eight games on her way to the title.

She becomes the second Panther to win a State title, following Olivia Wirtz's 2011 title her junior year (now bowling as a redshirt sophomore at Vanderbilt University).

Congratulations to Kadee Bechman of Pennfield, this week's Meijer Athlete of the Week.

Nominate your student-athlete to become our next next Meijer Athlete of the Week! We announce them Wednesday mornings during the Richard Piet Show. All winners will receive a plaque for their accomplishment, courtesy of Recognition, Inc.
