The Republican controlled Michigan House unveiled a plan to increase infrastructure funding by 500 million a year.

The proposal would replace the 19 cents a gallon flat tax on gas to a 6% wholesale tax that they say would add revenue whenever the price of gas exceeds $3.55 a gallon.   It will also double the fees for overweight vehicles and include warranties on all road repairs.

The House will need to pass it and then it goes on to the Senate for approval.
