It was a great effort by supporters of Minges Brook Elementary, both far an near.   Now we wait!    The school was entered in the "Fuel the Drive" national contest to win a $25,000 prize to get new playground equipment.   Julie Green of the Minges Brook PTA says they won't get word until January 7th, as to who won.   Several schools entered the contest, sponsored by Bridgestone.  They asked supporters to go on line and vote once per day.   Only two schools were really in the running, and what a battle it was!   Minges Brook Elementary and Castle Rock, Colorado were in a neck and neck battle down to the final minutes.   Green says the webpage indicated that Minges Brook was ahead by about 1,500 votes when the polls closed at 9pm Monday.   But she cautions that they'll have to wait for the official talley in January.
