Just hours after I-94 west of Battle Creek was reopened from the Friday morning 193-car pileup, pavement was again being blanketed with new snow. Monday morning commuters will need extra time, less speed and more distance between cars as they make their way to their destinations. Outside the WBCK studio, about 3-4 inches of new snow piled up since Sunday evening.

Plow crews have been out, but much work remains as many main routes in Battle Creek and in west Michigan have some measure of accumulated snow.

With early temperatures in the upper 20's on Monday, the National Weather Service forecast calls for falling temps to the low 20's by the evening commute, with the next couple of evenings promising air temperatures near or below zero, but less snowfall.
