It’s that time of year again, when the Wayne State University’s Mortuary Science Building opens its doors to the general public for the annual open house.

The Detroit building houses teaching and research resources in embalming, anatomy and restorative arts as well as laboratories.

According to the Associated Press, hands-on activities are planned to highlight academic and career opportunities in clinical laboratory science, forensics, mortuary science and pathology.

Thursday’s event, which includes tours, takes place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and free parking will be available.

So load the kids into the mini-van and expose them to the world of morticians wax and light snacks. How often do you have the chance to learn how to reconstruct a nose and enjoy a cheese ball, all in one night!
