MSU Wins; Play Fri Night

Michigan State upended second-seeded Virginia 60-54 in East Regional play in Charlotte Sunday afternoon, eliminating Virginia from the "Big Dance" for the second straight year.   Travis Trice scored 23 points and Branden Dawson added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Spartans.  MSU will face third-seeded Oklahoma in the Sweet 16 at Syracuse, New York.  Broadcast time is 9pm Friday night on WBCK.

The Sweet 16 field is set.  Top-seeded and undefeated Kentucky will clash with West Virginia on Thursday.  Wisconsin meets North Carolina, Notre Dame takes on Wichita State, and Arizona faces Xavier.   On Friday, Gonzaga plays UCLA. Louisville faces NC State, Duke goes up against Utah, and Oklahoma meets Michigan State.
