A mysterious object is approaching Earth and is due to impact the planet on November 13th, 2015, just off the coast of Sri Lanka.

According to Wikipedia, this object was first discovered February 18th, 2013 by the Catalina Sky Survey, and then lost, then rediscovered, then lost again and rediscovered once more on October 3rd, 2015.

This puzzling object, which has an elliptical orbit that circles the Earth and crosses the orbit of the Moon, even has NASA scratching their heads.

Sky and Telescope tends to lean towards the space junk theory, proposed by the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center and the European Space Agency. These space agencies feel that it could be a remnant from the Apollo space missions. “The object is quite small, at most a couple of meters in diameter, and a significant fraction if not all of it can be expected to completely burn up in the atmosphere,” says Tim Flohrer, from ESA’s Space Debris Office at the ESOC operations centre in Darmstadt, Germany.

The Inquisitr proposes that it is perhaps a UFO which is heading for an underwater UFO base. The expected crash site is well-known for UFO activity.

Whatever this strange object is, it may provide an interesting light-show as it enters the Earth’s atmosphere.

By the way, November 13th does fall on Friday, this year.
