The Battle Creek Police Department and other area law enforcement agencies are gearing up for the annual National Night Out event in Battle Creek. The local, family-friendly and free event will take place from 5:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday indoors, at Kellogg Arena, due to rain in the forecast.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign from the National Association of Town Watch. It promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make the community safer and better places to live. The local event is held in conjunction with nationwide events the on first Tuesday of August every year. This is the 35th anniversary of National Night Out.
