New 94BL Work Starts Monday

Battle Creek drivers will have to become accustomed to the new I-94 Business Loop once construction - which starts Monday, May 4 - is completed in mid-November.

The project will permanently remove Skyline Drive/Martin Luther King Boulevard between Dickman Road and Hill Brady Road, and officially re-designate the I-94 Business Loop route. The re-designation will make part of Columbia Avenue and Helmer Road included the Business Loop route, as shown in the MDOT photo below.

In a news release, MDOT says the section being removed is to accommodate expanding munitions storage at the military base.

The project will require intermittent nighttime lane closures and traffic shifts. For more information, see the MDOT website.
