We’ve talked about the Miles for Memories bracelet before, but what is the Community Bracelet Launch?

On Valentine’s Day, February 14th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Miles for Memories will be hosting a community launch of the bracelet, making it available to the public for the first time.  We’ve conducted a pilot program in a few of the assisted living facilities and we’re pleased, now, to be able to offer it to the public.

It’s a specially designed, waterproof bracelet that will help bring peace of mind to those in the early stages of dementia and to their loved one.  It will be connected to the Help Home program and will provide emergency personnel the means to help contact the family or caregiver of someone who has wander off, and return them safely home.

Taking it a step further, in addition to emergency contact information, medical information can be stored and accessed by emergency medical personnel.  You can decide how much information you want to add and how much of the added information you want to share.  You can update or change the information on line or through a phone app.

The Personal I.D. Bracelet is funded in part by a grant through the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, so we are able to provide it to the public for a small donation of only $10.

We invite everyone to come to the Kool Family Community Center, 200 W Michigan Ave, on Valentine’s Day to learn more and/or sign up.  Call (269) 965-5000 to reserve your spot.
