Mobile home parks would be subjected to new regulations under a measure headed to the governor's desk.

The bill requires more communication between local and state regulators when it comes to things like sewer, sanitation and other issues.

The measure is in response to a case involving a Lansing area mobile home park that actually had to be relocated because the sanitation problems were so bad. The problems followed several citations against the park, although the investigating agencies didn't work together to resolve the problem before the park became uninhabitable.
The bill, which is headed to the governor's desk, is sponsored by Michigan House Democrat Andy Schor of Lansing.
