New Name Could Bring New Grants

They've been known for many years in Battle Creek as Neighborhoods Inc., with a four-pronged mission that has been centered around core neighborhoods, revitalization and foreclosure assistance.

That isn't changing, but the name is. Neighborhoods Inc. is now known as the Southwest Michigan Community Development Corporation.

President and CEO Bill Phillips tells The Richard Piet Show the main impetus behind the change is offer a modernized focus and to attract new grant sources - and in doing so, more clearly define at first glance what the organization is all about.
