What is going on at the Veterans Admonition (VA)?

How systemic are their problems?

How long has the VA been abusing their authority and position?

Why are they treating our soldier’s with such irrelevance?

These are all questions that come to my mind after hearing case after case of abuses at the VA hospital and the administration who never knew or cared to look away at what is happening. By administration, I mean the VA -- not necessarily the Obama or any administration before him.  I am assuming this has been going on for decades.

Why am I lamenting about this?

According to a report in TheBlaze.com, VA doctors did not believe a veteran had an artificial leg and to prove he did not they took an x-ray.

The article stated the following:

Chad Fleming, a veteran who served in the 75th Ranger Regiment, says the VA took an X-ray of his artificial leg to prove he was actually an amputee. Though they could have referenced his extensive medical history or just used their eyes, he said, they wasted precious resources taking an X-ray of a leg that “doesn’t exist.

It did not stop there, in the report Fleming was quoted as saying, “[The doctor] actually laughed. And I told him, I said, ‘You wonder why the country is in such a deficit? It’s because you’re wasting money taking X-rays of a leg that doesn’t exist.’ It’s like, ‘Dude I’m not a starfish. It isn’t going to grow back.’”

Also in the report, “Lone Survivor” author Marcus Luttrell spoke about an incident he had at a VA dentist office. He said he waited for hours to only get an appointment to see a dentist. After waiting four hours he was informed that he had to make “an appointment to come back to make your appointment.”

This is a disgrace for a country like ours that we treat our veterans this way.

I wonder how we have people who work in our government that act in this manner.  I believe this is another symptom of our every growing government that is just too big to police itself.

You must ask yourself, "If our government can do this to our soldiers, then what would they do to me, a person who did not serve?"

Let’s discuss this today on my show the Live with Renk show, which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon, to let me know your thoughts at (269) 441-9595.
