A prediction from forecasters of about an inch of snow overnight Monday into Tuesday seemed already beaten and exceeded by 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, with some areas already showing about 2 inches on the ground.

A Winter Weather Advisory until 1 a.m. Wednesday remained in effect early Tuesday, with somewhere around 4 inches accumulating during the day. Other forecasters were suggesting as much as 8 inches in other areas.
