A hive containing an estimated 40,000 bees was removed from under the roof of a house used for student housing at Kalamazoo College, Wednesday. After the bees were discovered, bee-keepers were called to remove the bees, rather than have them exterminated. A smoker was used to calm the bees and they were transferred to hives. It is estimated that the bee-hive had existed in the structure for the past ten-years.
