The Detroit Tigers had an opportunity to end their three-game skid against the Houston Astros Friday night. One pitch changed it all.

A Josh Reddick three-run homer in the eighth inning off Tigers reliever Bruce Rondon gave the Astros a 6-5 victory in the opener of their three-game weekend series at Comerica Park.

Eight of the nine Tigers starters had hits in the loss, led by Nicholas Castellanos' two-hit night. He drove in three runs with his 15th homer of the season. Miguel Cabrera added a solo shot in the loss, his 13th round tripper on the year.

Rondon would take the loss on the mound in just 1/3 of an inning of relief. He falls to 1-2 on the season.

The Motown Cats return to action Saturday against the Astros, looking for just their second win on the season in six games. Matthew Boyd (4-5, 5.48 ERA) takes the mound for the Tigers, while Houston counters with Collin McHugh (0-0, 7.71 ERA). Catch the action at 5:45pm on 95.3 WBCK!
