A Kalamazoo County homeowner fended off two intruders Saturday night, shooting one as they entered his home.

According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office, the Schoolcraft Township man woke up at around 11 p.m. when he heard loud knocking at his front door.

The man saw two men outside his door, then saw one walk around the side of the building and break a window.  Police say the homeowner shot the man after he entered his home. The other suspect then fled, but was arrested by police a short time later.

The injured suspect was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
