This year’s Cereal Festival was a lot of fun, but there was also serious work being done by many people and area businesses who banded together to form “The Partnership to End Hunger.”   The goal was 7,000 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.

The numbers are in and the total pounds of food collected towards the Partnership was..... (drum roll please):

9,174 pounds!

Becky Briggs of ConAgra Foods says the total includes the left over cereal from the festival, which accounted for 6,027 lbs.  She says that the partnership also collected 3,147 pounds and  $1,759.33.  Not bad for the first year!

Briggs thanked all of the volunteers in the Partnership for all their hard work and dedication to the event!  This will certainly feed a lot of hungry people.
