Petoskey, In Detroit

A large rock, illegally removed from Lake Michigan will soon be on permanent display in Detroit. State parks chief Ron Olson tells the Associated Press that a 93 pound, Petoskey stone will be moved to Michigan’s popular Outdoor Adventure Center, east of downtown Detroit, near the Detroit River. In 2015, a Manistee County man discovered the huge specimen near Northport.
