Albion’s former City Manager made a plea Thursday in a case involving an incident at a retirement party that pushed him out of his job with the city. Dan Bishop pled ‘no contest’ to Assault and Battery, for inappropriately touching a city employee. The plea was part of a deal where Bishop could face probation instead of jail time. Albion City Council members voted in March to fire Bishop with cause. A sentencing date has not been determined.  Police Chief Scott Kipp is still serving as interim city manager while the city looks for a replacement.
