A man stealing an unmarked Battle Creek police car might lead to disciplinary action.

WWMT says that Sunday morning, a man who lives at an adult foster care home with mental health issues apparently found an unmarked police car with the key fob inside. The man took off with the car, and returned to his group home to tell workers there about what he’d found. Workers contacted the Battle Creek Police Department, and the vehicle was returned to the BCPD with no apparent damage.

The Department says they will consider internal action as a result of this incident, but they don’t plan on criminally charging the man who took the car.
