Battle Creek police plan to review their use-of-force policies following an arrest that led to a $31,000 settlement. Interim Police Chief Jim Blocker said Thursday he's asked the state police and an expert in use of police force to review the Oct. 2, 2012, arrest of a Battle Creek man.  Surveillance video released by the city shows a man dragging a woman from a car in the parking lot of a convenience store and then the officer contacting him as he walks away. Moments later, the city said the officer put the man on the ground after multiple punches to the head.

The man later pleaded guilty to resisting and obstructing police.  An internal investigation cleared the officer. The settlement was paid in March.
