Portage Nightclub Shooting Leaves One Injured

A Detroit man was shot in the face, during a party at a Portage nightclub early Sunday.

Portage Public Safety Officers responded to The Renaissance in the 3000 block of Kilgore Road around 12:45am Sunday, on reports of shots fired.  On the scene, officers found the 22-year-old Detroit man with a gunshot wound to the face.

He refused treatment at the scene and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, and remains in serious condition.

No suspects have been found as of yet.  However a man wanted on armed robbery charges, who Detroit Police advised Portage authorities would be at the nightclub with the rap group “Shred Gang”, was arrested at the hospital.

The victim is also a member of Shred Gang.
