A man who fled to Las Vegas after allegedly killing his ex’s brother will be standing trial.

26-year-old George Mack of Kalamazoo has been charged with premeditated murder, felony firearm and aggravated stalking.

Mack, who was out on bond for domestic assault at the time of the shooting, allegedly arrived at Erica Bell’s home in the 1300 block of North Rose Street on August 9, and fatally shot Edward Bell with an assault rifle, as Edward pushed his sister out of harm’s way.  A week long manhunt for Mack ensued, with US Marshalls finding him in Las Vegas August 17.

George Mack faced a judge in a preliminary hearing Thursday, and he will be returning to court in November.
