Prescription Drug Tracking

A task force formed by Governor Rick Snyder is releasing more than two dozen recommendations to target the problem of prescription drug and painkiller addiction. The plan includes requiring all prescribers of prescription medicines to register for an updated tracking database. The group also calls for new regulations on the licensing of pain clinics, increased sanctions for health professionals who violate proper dispensing practices and easier access to a drug that reduces the effect of an overdose.
