Unofficial counts are in for many races and proposals in the primary election.  Proposal 1 on the statewide ballot appears likely to win approval.  The proposal will affirm the removal of the personal property tax on business.

In the 62nd State House district, preliminary numbers show John Bizon securing the Republican nomination over Art Kale, and Andy Helmboldt taking the Democratic nomination over his opponents Dave Morgan and Terris Todd.

Margaret O’Brien has won the Republican nomination for the 20th State Senate District.

Sarah Lincoln and James Dyer were the top two vote getters for the 37th Circuit Court Judgeship.

Incumbent Fred Upton appears to have won the Republican Party’s nomination for reelection over challenger Jim Bussler in the 6th Congressional District; he’ll face democrat Paul Clements in the general election.

The Burlington Township Fire Department millage renewal passed.

The Clarence Township road millage renewal passed.

The Eckford Township millage offset proposal appears to have failed.

The Emmett Township Public Safety millage renewal passed.

The Marengo Township road millage proposal passed.

The Pennfield Township Public Safety millage renewal passed.

The Albion Public Schools proposal passed.
