I will be interviewing  State Senator Patrick Colbeck, R-Canton Township tomorrow (Thursday) at the top of the 10:00 hour.  Senator Colbeck introduced bills that would require state universities to adopt policies that protect free speech and intellectual debate on campus and ensure that invited speakers would be allowed to speak.

I interviewed him about his bills last May when he first submitted the bills, and you can hear that interview by clicking on the following:

In a press release he stated the following:

“The concept of free speech under the First Amendment is one of our core values as Americans. The right to free speech at our schools is a particularly important piece of the fabric of our country. It is at this time that many of our younger citizens first start to realize the true importance of both their individual voice and the ability to learn from the differences of others.”

I wanted to speak with him about the opposition that has arouse since he introduced the bills.  People in opposition to his bill's feel that they would infringe on their rights to free speech.

Let's find out what he thinks about opposition to his bill's, please join us tomorrow (Wednesday 7-20-17) at 10:00 am.
