He's still mulling it over, but USA Today and the Detroit News are reporting that Babcock will sign a deal with another NHL team.

USA Today reports that a person with knowledge of the decision gave them the information, but requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

The article says it is not immediately known where Babcock will coach next season. TSN.ca and ESPN are reporting that the Buffalo Sabres are out as a possible landing spot.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues are the remaining teams that have received permission to talk to Babcock.

The Red Wings have made the playoffs for 22 consecutive seasons, but have been knocked out in the first round in 3 of the last 4 seasons under Babcock.
