Reports: ‘Battle Creek’ Axed

A number of entertainment news sources and others reported Saturday that CBS-TV has cancelled Vince Gilligan's police series "Battle Creek."

The series premiered early this year to good reviews, riding on Gilligan's success with "Breaking Bad." Within a few weeks, though, "Battle Creek" suffered from a ratings drop from which it has not recovered.

A CBS-TV official told Townsquare Media several months ago the show would undertake another media tour if the show were to be picked up for another season. At that time, filming for the first season had wrapped.

The show was set in Battle Creek and starred Josh Duhamel, though filming took place in Los Angeles.
