When you think of BBQ done right, images of a country-styled restaurant may come to mind. A down-home feel, with BBQ ribs perhaps, maybe chicken. These days, the big city boasts what’s called “urban BBQ” that modernizes the experience, giving it a hip feel.
In fact, at Kelvin and Co., owner and executive chef Mark Nieuwenhuis brought the concept back to the area from Chicago. He merges traditional BBQ with a host of sauce choices with natural, antibiotic and hormone free brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Nieuwenhuis said he sources his meats from “reputable farms across the U.S.”
Couple your choice with sides like macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, corn bread or collard greens and choose from six different sauces. Home made pickles help compliment the tastes.
