The wife of a late union official has pleaded guilty in a federal corruption investigation, in spite of protests from her lawyer. The Associated Press reports that Monica Morgan pleaded guilty on Tuesday. She faces 27 months in prison and owes $191,000 in restitution, to Fiat Chrysler. Morgan was married to General Holiefield, the late UAW vice president, before his death in 2015. Defense lawyer Steve Fishman insists that Morgan wasn’t any part of a conspiracy.
