Back in January, Firekeeper’s Casino Hotel held a Poker Tournament Series to raise money for the local food bank. Now, they are announcing their results.

Firekeeper’s says that the Restock the Shelves event gathered over 400 pounds of non-perishable food, and over $3,000 in cash donations, to be directed to the Kendall Street Pantry in Battle Creek. The Kendall Street Pantry is one half of The Fire Hub at the corner of Dickman and Kendall, a venture where Firekeeper’s collaborated with the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.

Executive Director of the Food Bank Patty Parker says in a release “we are consistently humbled by the generosity and kindness that this community shares when asked to contribute.”

This year's Restock the Shelves event generated over double what it did last year; in 2017, Firekeeper's gathered just over $1,500 in cash donations and around 150 pounds of food. The tournament was put on in collaboration with Ante Up Magazine and Blue Shark Optics.
