The latest "Richard's Ride" from Lakeview Ford Lincoln is the 2015 Edge Titanium.

Ford's midsize crossover was introduced in 2006 as a 2007 model. It marked the beginning of Ford's transition - along with the industry - from boxier, larger family SUVs to more fuel efficient, car-like crossover vehicles.

The 2015 Edge marks Ford's first inside-and-out total restyling of the Edge, giving it more refined styling outside, a more luxurious interior, more tech-y features and three engine options - including two EcoBoost choices.

The Titanium trim level represents the mid-level version of the vehicle, though our test model's $45,000 sticker price might make it seem more top-of-the-line. Actually, it feels top-of-the-line, too. The Edge is also available in less-expensive SE and SEL trim as well as the all-out Sport model, with SE pricing starting at $28,495 and the Sport starting at $38,495. Of course, certain extra options add more to the bottom line.

The coolest thing about the Edge Titanium is the technology. Ford has equipped it with the available Park Assist technology, which essentially parks the vehicle itself - with a little help from the driver. We showed you the parallel parking assistance feature in the 2015 Escape. The Edge takes it a step further with help parking in a standard side-by-side parking space.
