Road Closure In Battle Creek Monday At Verona Pumping Station

An improvement project at a Battle Creek pumping station will cause a road closure early next week. Work on the Verona Pumping Station is scheduled to take place Monday morning, as long as weather permits. According to a release from the city of Battle Creek, a city contractor will be connecting a hydrant to the 30 inch water main on East Roosevelt Avenue between Capital Ave. NE and Wagner Drive.

The road will be completely closed while the work is taking place, which is scheduled to happen between 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Signs will be posted on Monday to help motorists navigate the detour. The detour will take drivers to E. Roosevelt Ave., N. East Ave., and E. Emmett Street to get around the work area.  Emergency vehicles will also not have access during the project time.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or avoid the area altogether during the day Monday.
