Roundup: Datsyuk out. Wings make deal.
Red Wings
Pavel Datsyuk will miss at least three weeks with a knee injury, and Henrik Zetterberg is out after back surgery. The Red Wings acquired center David Legwand from the Nashville Predators before Yesterday's trading deadline. Legwand, a native of Grosse Pointe, had spent his entire 15-year NHL career with the Predators. The Predators get right wing Patrick Eaves, a prospect and a conditional third-round pick in the 2014 NHL draft. The Red Wings return to Joe Louis Arena tonight to host the Colorado Avalanche. The team will retire former captain Niklas Lidstrom's jersey in a ceremony before the game.
Pistons
The Pistons lost to the Bulls 105-94. Detroit kept up with the Bulls for three quarters, but couldn't pull out the win. Greg Monroe led Detroit with 27 points, Kyle Singler added 16 and Andre Drummond and Josh Smith each had 15. Once again, the Pistons ran out of gas in the final quarter. The Pistons are 13 games under .500 and three and a half games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They travel to Minnesota tomorrow night.
College Basketball
MSU plays Iowa tonight in East Lansing in the final home game of the season. Michigan wraps up the regular season Saturday hosting Indiana. (Be listening later for your chance to win tickets)
Boys Basketball Districts
Class B at Marshall
Harper Creek 76, Pennfield 59. Travon Johnson with 27. Khylen Watkins 15, James Kadena with 14. Brandon Hudson with 12 and 15 rebounds.
Marshall beat Parchment 65-53. Jacob Brubaker had 20 points.
Friday night, it’ll be Harper Creek versus Marshall in the District Final at Marshall. We’ll have the game at 6:40 on WBCK-FM.

Maple Valley 46, Springport 35. Maple Valley was led by Austin Gonser with 15 points and nine rebounds. The Lions advance to the district finals on Friday to face Potterville.

St. Philip 67, Lakeside Academy 34
Climax-Scotts 53, Martin 36. Dallas Froberg finished with 19 points.
St. Phillip plays Climax on Friday for the District Title.
Athens 69, Burr Oak 51. Athens was led by Jonas Gerstenberger with 17 points and eight rebounds. Athens plays Marcellus on Friday at Burr Oak.
Bellevue plays Jackson Christian tomorrow in a district final.
Girls Basketball – Regionals
Athens’ Girls’ basketball team advances to the regional final against Wyoming Potter’s House tonight at Bloomingdale High School.
Tigers
The Tigers beat the Houston Astros in Kissimmee, 3-0. Starter Max Scherzer gave up one hit while striking out three in three innings. Ian Kinsler had a two-out, RBI single in the fifth inning. This afternoon, Justin Verlander is scheduled to start in a split squad game against the Phillies in Lakeland. It will be the first spring appearance for Verlander since undergoing core muscle surgery during the offseason.
Swimming
Lakeview swimmers Jake Budd and Austin Nemire will go tot the Division 2 state finals at EMU.
Marshall’s Henry Swett and Kyle Weck advanced to the Division 3 state at Holland.
