Saturday Crash Leaves Texas Township Woman Dead

A two vehicle crash in Texas Township has left one dead and two others in serious condition.

Around 3pm Saturday, authorities say that a vehicle headed eastbound on West S Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of S Ave and South Eighth St.  The vehicle, driven by a 61-year-old woman from Texas Township, entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The Texas Township woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man and woman in the other car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

It’s not clear at this time why the woman ran the stop sign.
