Once again this year, WBCK and Townsquare Media will spend several hours over two days atop a Battle Creek roof, calling attention to the mission of The Haven of Rest Ministries and their mission to help get people their lives back.

This week on The Richard Piet Show, we introduced you to Leroy and Gina Ellis-Smith, a couple who have availed themselves of help from The Haven in order to break an addiction cycle, reunite their family and get back on their feet.

Hear their story by clicking the player below. Both Gina and Leroy speak frankly about the challenges they faced, and how The Haven helped them return to productive lives.

This year's Roofsit - the largest annual fundraiser for The Haven - happens during the organization's 60th anniversary. So, an aggressive $60,000 fundraising goal has been set for this year.

We hope you'll consider a donation during Roofsit - or sooner! - to help The Haven reach their goal and continue to provide life-changing opportunities for people in our own community.

We'll be perched on the roof all day Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Mancino's, 2171 West Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek (the old Yarn Shop), just west of Helmer in front of the Meijer store.

Hear The Richard Piet Show weekday mornings from 5:30-9 on WBCK.
