I informed you back in April that the CEO of Necco candy maker announced that if they do not find a buyer soon they will have to close the companies doors.

According to the AP at a bankruptcy auction the CEO was able to find a buyer, but then all of a sudden the company shutdown operations at their only plant in Massachusetts, leaving 230 people without jobs.

Will they start manufacturing the Necco Wafers and Sweethearts somewhere else, only time will tell.

By the way Necco, or New England Confectionery Co., is or was the country’s oldest continuously operating candy company.
