A section of South Avenue in Battle Creek will be closed to traffic, starting Monday.

In a release, the City of Battle Creek says that South Avenue from Fountain Street to Dickman Road will be shut down, to rebuild the railroad crossing there. The work will be directed by Canadian National Railway.

A detour will be in place, using Fountain, Jay, and Main Streets and Dickman Road.

The closure will be in place from 7 a.m. Monday, May 30 until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7.
