Services Today for Bill Wright

There will be a memorial service for local businessman, philanthropist and friend, Bill Wright, at Valley Family Church in Kalamazoo today, January 4, at 10:00am.

Bill Wright was a well-known businessman, but will be best remembered as a generous advocate for abused children with the Wright for Kids Foundation. His foundation involved with both the Rock for Kids concerts downtown and the annual RoofSit fundraiser for the Community Healing Center.

Wright died last Saturday at his home in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was 54. He was a major figure in  West Michigan auto sales as part-owner of the Seelye-Wright Auto Group.  Wright sold his interest in the company last October.  He was also commercial pitchman for the dealerships with his well known “Yes We Can” slogan. Wright also headed an ownership group that operated the Kalamazoo Kings baseball team.
